Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of wicked people, take the path of sinners, or join the company of mockers. 2 Rather, he delights in the teachings of the Lord and reflects on his teachings day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted beside streams - a tree that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. He succeeds in everything he does. God’s Word Translation

Psalm 1:4 Wicked people are not like that. Instead, they are like husks that the wind blows away. 5 That is why wicked people will not be able to stand in the judgment and sinners will not be able to stand where righteous people gather. 6 The Lord knows the way of righteous people, but the way of wicked people will end. God’s Word Translation

Ephesians 1:3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Through Christ, God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing that heaven has to offer. God’s Word Translation

Happiness doesn’t come by chasing it but by being blessed by God.

2 Samuel 6:11 The chest stayed there for three months, and the Lord greatly blessed Obed Edom, his family, and everything he owned. 12 Then someone told King David, "The Lord has done this because the sacred chest is in Obed Edom's house." Right away, David went to Obed Edom's house to get the chest and bring it to David's City. Everyone was celebrating. Contemporary English Version

So when we come into a place of prayer or worship blessed creates an expectation, a readiness to experience more of God’s goodness. The anticipation of being blessed works changes in us that make us capable of being blessed. Eugene Peterson
