Student's of Worship' or SOW is BC's student worship group. We lead worship for Paramount , our student ministry, and Superkids, our Childrens ministry. Our mission is to connect young people to God thru worship and serving all while developing their gifts. Students who join will grow as leaders, teammates, musicians or vocalists, and ultimately children of God.
Joining SOW is an incredibly easy task. In fact we invite students who are just getting started in music to come and be apart, as well as students who are already established with their talents. There are no auditions, and everyone can be apart. We believe that we have a place for everyone and that we can help you find your perfect fit at BC.
Anyone joining SOW will be required to go thru a 6 week course that will prepare and train students to step onto the stage during services. Once completed students will be placed according to their faithfulness, attitude and skill level. If a student isn't quite ready to be placed on the schedule in either our super kids or paramount services they will be asked to attend another 6 week SOW course. This can be repeated as many times as necessary.
During our SOW courses we offer workshops from beginner to advanced for all musicians and vocalists. We believe that we are called to equip students with the tools they need to go as far as possible with their talents. These workshops are optional but we encourage all students to attend the ones specific to their craft.
SOW courses are held 2 times a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. They are on saturdays from 12-1. Workshops are held from 11-12 immediately before SOW group.
If you are interested in joining please fill out the application below and we will contact you before our next SOW course starts.
Accountability means we are answerable to others, and we should accept this responsibility as a gift from God. Not only does it provide a system of checks and balances that protect us from harm, but it also gives us unique opportunities to share our lives with others and encourage them.
A. Knowing that someone will ask about our conduct motivates us to do our best and encourages us to be good stewards of our time, talents, and resources.
B. When we're answerable to others, we are positioned for promotion. As those in authority review our work, they realize our potential.
C. Accountability inspires and protects us and those we're closest to, which makes our relationships even stronger.
D. We must regularly face the truth about our attitudes and actions, and examine whether we are staying in the center of God's will.
E. Being responsible to the Lord and others challenges us to maintain high standards, Godly convictions, a transparent heart, and a trustworthy character.
(This is not due until the end of the 6 week SOW course. We will cover this during the course.)
