Hebrews 12:2 Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed - that exhilarating finish in and with God - he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever... The Message

Luke 23:34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. New International Version

YOU CAN FORGIVE THE UNFORGIVABLE

What Forgiveness Isn’t

Forgiveness isn’t minimizing the offense

Forgiveness isn’t reconciliation

Forgiveness isn’t absolution with God

Romans 12:19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. New Living Translation

Galatians 6:7 Do not deceive yourselves; no one makes a fool of God. You will reap exactly what you plant. Good News Translation

Forgiveness isn’t fair

“To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in me.” C.S. Lewis

Forgiveness isn’t forgetting

Forgiveness is saying I won’t hold you accountable for the wrong you did to me. I release you!

You’ll be offended continuously

John 16:33I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” New International Version

Unforgiveness only hurts you

“Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.”

Proverbs 18:19 It is harder to win back the friendship of an offended brother than to capture a fortified city. His anger shuts you out like iron bars. Living Bible

Ask Jesus to help you forgive

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength. New Century Version

Pray for and Bless them

(Matthew 5:43-44, Luke 6:27-28, Romans 12:14)
