The Mystery of the Trinity

 

·         God is three persons

·         Each person is fully God

·         There is only one God

 

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one New International Version

 

·         Jehovah’s Witnesses teach God is one person, The Father, who created Jesus and has a force known as the Holy Spirit

·         Mormons teach the Trinity is made up of three separate Gods

·         Oneness Theology (Jesus only) teaches the Father became the Son, who became the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Father in flesh.

 

The Trinity in Scriptures

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." New International Version

Function of the Trinity Concerning Our Salvation…

 

·         The Father planed it

·         The Son performed it

·         The Holy Spirit reveals & seals it 

 

Function of the Trinity Concerning Prayer...

 

·         The Father hears it

·         The Son guarantees it

·         The Holy Spirit produces it

 

John 16:23 At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything, for you can go directly to the Father and ask him, and he will give you what you ask for because you use my name. 24 You haven’t tried this before, but begin now. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and your cup of joy will overflow. The Living Bible

 

Interaction with the Trinity

 

·         The Father: Prayer & Awe

·         The Son: Follow & Obey

·         The Holy Spirit: Acknowledge & Yield

 

God the Father is to be reverenced, worshiped, and adored!

 

Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, New International Version
