Lesson 2: Meditation

July 8, 2018

The way we
drink from God’s streams is by meditation

is the
person who does not follow the advice of wicked people, take the path of
sinners, or join the company of mockers.
on his teachings
day and night.
He is like a tree planted beside streams - a tree that
produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. He succeeds in
everything he does.

Your words were found, and I ate
them, and your words became to me a
,
for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.

Your words are so choice, so
tasty; I prefer them to the best home cooking.

“The Bible
was not given to increase our knowledge but to change our lives”.

Instead you thrill to GOD's Word,
you chew on Scripture day and night.

and take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word (Rhema) of God.

Rhema – The
reference is not to the whole Bible as such, but to the individual scripture,
which the Spirit brings to our remembrance for use in time of need.

Rhema is a
specific word to a specific person in specific situation.

Meditation is
answering prayer – it’s thinking about the text until you sense God saying
something to you in it and then responding.

Read (Read
the passage slowly)

Reflect (Meditation)

Respond
(Pray)

Rest
(Contemplation)
