Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” English Standard Version

Jesus is Savior, but He is also Lord.

Faith is more than mental ascent; it is allegiance to a King.

The Kingdom of God is both now and not yet.

Matthew 6:9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. English Standard Version

“God’s own “kingdom,” or “rule,” is the range of his effective will, where what he wants done is done.” - Dallas Willard

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. English Standard Version

Matthew 16:18b ...I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

English Standard Version

Philippians 3:20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. New Living Translation

“The gospel of Jesus Christ is more political than anyone imagines, but in a way that no one guesses.” - Eugene Peterson

We build bridges, not barriers.

Romans 12:17 “…Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. (Build Bridges!) 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. New International Version

Romans 12:20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. New International Version

1 Peter 2:17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. English Standard Version

1 Timothy 2:1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. New Living Translation

Very few people will believe you only because of your beliefs.

Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. English Standard Version

Our faithfulness to Christ is measured not just by our love for Jesus, but by our love for Judas.

If we are not different from the world, we will not make a difference in the world.

John 17:14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. 16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do. New Living Translation

John 17:17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. 18 Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. 19 And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth. New Living Translation
